The number of degrees below zero hardly matters anymore:
“I only turn on the heating function when I need it. Using the HeatX app, I set my desired temperature, and the jacket adjusts itself automatically. As my body heat increases, the heating effect decreases,” he explains.
The battery lasts all day, and Langeland wears only a shirt and blazer under the jacket. In fact, he’s replaced two heavy winter coats weighing 3.5 kilograms in total with a single jacket weighing just 1 kilogram, including the battery.
“My old ‘polar jackets’ are retired. So are the extra wool base layers that made me freeze when biking and sweat once I arrived at work. The only extra piece of clothing I need now is rain pants – it does rain here occasionally,” he says with a smile.
